DESCRIPTION:This event is for high school students\, their parents\, and anyone interested in learning more about how they can step up into high-skilled\, high-demand\, high-wage jobs for now and in the future\," said Michael Erny\, dean of the School of Advanced Manufacturing\, Engineering\, and Applied Science for Ivy Tech Kokomo. "Areas of interest include industrial maintenance\, robotics\, manufacturing\, HVAC\, CNC\, agriculture\, automotive technology\, and electrical and mechanical skilled trades.\n\nOpen House will include activities\, demonstrations\, and information sharing by Ivy Tech faculty\, staff\, and students. Hands-on experiences for visitors will involve robotics\, 3-D printing\, virtual welding\, CNC machining\, agricultural soil lab\, automotive experience\, HVAC/Trane experience\, and advanced manufacturing. A number of area employers are expected to be on hand to discuss current and future job opportunities and the importance of training and certifications offered at Ivy Tech.
