DESCRIPTION:The Tippecanoe Valley High School student council and the American Red Cross will host a community blood drive on Friday\, Feb. 2\, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.\n\n \n\nThe blood drive is open to anyone who meets the donor requirements outlined by the American Red Cross. Anyone interested in donating blood can go online to www.redcrossblood.org and register using the zip code 46910. You can also register by emailing Crystal Heckaman\, student council sponsor\, at heckamancr@tvsc.k12.in.us.\n\n \n\nThe high school student council hosts several blood drives throughout the school year. The American Red Cross provides scholarship money to students depending on the number of blood donations collected during the blood drives.\n\n \n\nAccording to the American Red Cross\, a blood donor card or driver's license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law)\, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
